Exhaust system is a system that aims to remove the gases from combustion and reduce the noise made by the engine during combustion. Several important components in the exhaust system including manifold, exhaust pipes and elbows, mufflers.

Manifold is an important component in the exhaust system. The function of the manifold which collects all disposal of gas in one place and then distributed by the manifold to the exhaust pipes and elbows. Exhaust pipes and elbows on this system have a purpose to accommodate the exhaust of combustion gas products which is produced by the manifold as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Basically, there are several shapes and sizes of exhaust pipes which have produced right now, the regular pipes and the flexible pipes. Regular exhaust is more solid with shape straight lengths, bent configurations and elbows. Meanwhile, the flexible exhaust pipe is used to accommodate thermal expansion of the exhaust system. Shape of the flexible exhaust systems are usually used by the disposal of large diesel engines, heavy duty applications and severe service vehicles.

In the exhaust system there are components that are used to muffle the engine sound when combustion process, namely muffler. This component has several shapes of muffler include chambers with holes, and the others are padded with fiberglass or plates to dampen noise levels. Right now there are several mufflers which has more efficient designs than others, by using heavier gauge materials and rely on better manufacturing processes.
